1. What is Cambridge Pre A1 Starters?
Cambridge English: Starters (also known as Pre A1 Starters) is the first of the three Cambridge English Young Learners qualifications from the University of Cambridge (Starters → Movers → Flyers). The course helps children get used to standardised exam tasks and use English confidently in everyday life, without feeling lost or shy.
2. What will your child achieve?
🎧Listening
Your child will understand short conversations, recognise the names of objects, colours and positions, and get used to picture-matching and colouring tasks following a native speaker's instructions.
🗣️Speaking
Confidently answering questions about themselves (name, age, family, hobbies), describing where things are in a picture and responding naturally in 1:1 conversation with the teacher.
📖Reading & Writing
Recognising around 500+ words from the Cambridge topic lists. Your child will spell accurately, understand simple sentences and complete missing-letter tasks.
🎯Exam practice & exam confidence
Practising with Cambridge-standard sample papers helps your child build concentration, understand the exam rules and feel ready to achieve 12 – 15 shields.
